Waxing Preparation & Aftercare Guide

To ensure the best results from your waxing treatment,

it’s important to properly prepare the skin and follow the recommended aftercare.

Before Your Wax
A few simple steps can help make your treatment more comfortable and improve your results:

Hair length matters
For best results, hair should be at least 0.5cm long so it can be removed cleanly from the root. If you’ve recently shaved, it may take a couple of waxes to achieve an even growth cycle.

  • Keep the area clean
Please arrive with clean skin, free from moisturizers, oils, or deodorants. Wipes are available in salon if needed.

  • Reduce sensitivity (if needed)
    - If you’re new to waxing or feeling a little nervous, you may take 1–2 preferred pain relief 30–40 minutes before your appointment to help minimize discomfort.

  • Gentle, professional products

At Defined By Jade, only high-quality, gentle wax is used to ensure effective results while respecting your skin.

After Your Wax

It’s completely normal to experience slight redness or a mild heat rash immediately after your treatment. This is a natural response and typically settles within a few hours.

To protect the skin and avoid irritation:

  • Avoid sun exposure for at least 12 hours

  • Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools for 24 hours

  • Avoid spas, saunas, and excessive heat for 24 hours

  • Avoid applying perfumed products or lotions for 12 hours

  • Try to avoid touching the area to keep it clean and bacteria-free

3–10 Days After Your Wax

As the skin begins to settle, proper aftercare helps prevent ingrown hairs and keeps your results smooth for longer.

  • Gently exfoliate
Use a soft exfoliating glove or brush every 2–3 days, starting around day 3

  • Use targeted aftercare products
A product such as Lycon-X ingrown hair solution can help prevent ingrown hairs by gently removing dead skin cells and keeping follicles clear

Consistent aftercare will help keep your skin smoother for longer and make future waxing appointments quicker and more comfortable.

How Long Will My Wax Last?

If you’re new to waxing, you may notice some regrowth within 2–3 weeks. This is due to the natural hair growth cycle.

With regular waxing:

  • Results typically last 3–6 weeks

  • Hair regrowth becomes finer and more sparse over time

Final Note

Regular waxing, combined with proper aftercare, will leave your skin feeling smoother, softer, and more refined with every visit
